Duane is a child prodigy beginning his drumming/musical journey at age 2 in 1962, at age 5 his father and local music store owner (Harry Rempe) pieced together a young band “ Duane & The Red Coats” consisting of 5 members oldest being 8.
Staying together for 8 years they toured extensively as the support act for many major acts such as: Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Turtles, Iron Butterfly, 5 Americans, Hermans Hermits, etc.
They won talent contests abroad, appeared on Johnny Carson 1969, Billboard Magazine (November 2 1968), Fan mail, 16 Teen Magazine and much more.
After 2 years of college Duane hit the road again playing with show bands out of Texas and any kind of band that would keep money in his pocket. He moved to Denver in 82 touring and recording with bands/artist out of there.
In 1984 he moved to Los Angeles and hooked up with many great players in the who’s who world of Hollywood.
In 2009 he was signed to Snailworx Records and was submitted to the 2011 Grammy Awards getting 2 nominations in the Blues category for drumming on the “Pat Ramsey (Live in Key West)” from Pat’s 2003-04 tours and also singing on Orango Tango’s (Tainted Love) album 2010 dance release written by: W. Michael Lewis. (Both released on Snailworx Records)
